The Advocacy of this Coalition encompasses a wide range of activities that influence decision makers. It includes traditional activities that domesticate policies, public education, consultation, and Litigation. It can also include capacity building, relationship building, forming networks, and leadership development. This Coalition was formed to look at policies and work with policy makers to institutionalize and implement existing state and national laws starting with the VAPP Act.
The Violence Against Persons Prohibition Act, 2015 is the product of a successful 14-year-long social and legislative advocacy campaign championed by women’s groups and gender activists. A law that will protect all persons from all forms of violence, This Act, according to its long title, is aimed to eliminate violence in private and public life, prohibit all forms of violence, including physical, sexual, psychological, domestic, harmful traditional practices; discrimination against persons and to provide maximum protection and effective remedies for victims and punishment of offenders.

The mission of the Coalition for Policy Advocacy (C-PAK) is to work with partners using frameworks developed in the nation to describe policy influence through, Developing policy capacities: by developing and disseminating policy research that can help to advance the skills and knowledge of researchers, advisors, legislators, government officials, media, and key stakeholders that are directly involved. Thus, building an understanding of the appreciation for the value of research in decision-making. Broadening policy horizons: by successfully introducing new perspectives, or framing of the problem, or a new policy alternative that hadn’t before been considered. The softening up of the process that broadens the nature of the debate and become a pillar of the new conventional wisdom of the specialist community. Having policy impact: by having provided information adopted as the basis for changing legislation and government programs.

The Coalition shall play a vital role in the development, Localizing, and implementation of public policy to promote an informed, healthy, and justice-able strong democratic society. Witness and respond to the impact of public policies on the people we serve. Serve as an important bridge between policy makers and their constituents. Run effective advocacy that builds capacity to achieve the greatest good for the greatest number of people and communities we serve. Engaging in public policy advocacy can also raise awareness of the coalition’s mission, mobilize our constituents, and attract positive media attention.o
